AIWA stands for Augsburg International Women’s Association because that is essentially what we are!

Welcome to AIWA!
We are a non profit, non religious and non political association.
We are here to help you settle in Augsburg and to introduce you to friendly new people. Our activities are mostly in english although our members come from all over the world. As of today, we speak more than 15 languages.
We regularly meet for lunch, dinner, cocktails and other cultural events.

Social contact is an essential part of life. Meeting different people and forming new friendships is an easy way of improving our quality of life and overcoming feelings of loneliness or boredom in a new country.
AIWA represents a lively community of women with varied interests and backgrounds. Through our activities we aim to strengthen our members’ social networks and – of course – to have fun!
AIWA strives to create experiences and events that will increase our members’ knowledge and enjoyment of our host country, each other’s cultural, artistic and intellectual heritage.
We take great pleasure and pride in serving our community throughout the year and supporting local and international associations.
We meet every 6 to 8 weeks to discuss literary works.
We enjoy cooking together at each others homes or other venues.
We meet Wednesdays or Fridays at different locations in Augsburg.
We enjoy a meal together every 3rd and 20th of the month.
We meet in the evenings for cocktails and laughs.
We go on hiking tours, field trips and museums visits together.

All potential new members are welcome to attend two meetings before applying for membership, but membership is required to further attend any regular activity or special event. The annual membership fee is 50 Euros.
AIWA members receive a monthly newsletter and can participate in all club activities scheduled for that month.
Members are encouraged to vote and stand for office at our club elections and can get involved in the operation of the club.
AIWA is run solely by the volunteer efforts of our members; and as in every non-profit organization, volunteers are the backbone to success!
