AIWA stands for Augsburg International Women’s Association — and that’s exactly who we are.

Welcome to AIWA!
We are a non-profit, non-religious, and non-political association dedicated to bringing women together. Our goal is to help you feel at home in Augsburg while connecting you with an open, international community.
Most of our activities take place in English, but our members come from all over the world — together, we speak more than 15 languages.
We meet regularly for lunch, dinner, cocktails, and a variety of cultural and social events.

Social contact is an essential part of life. Meeting new people and forming friendships is a wonderful way to improve our quality of life and overcome feelings of loneliness or boredom in a new country.
AIWA is a lively community of women with diverse interests and backgrounds. Through our activities, we aim to strengthen our members’ social networks and — of course — to have fun!
AIWA strives to create experiences and events that deepen our members’ knowledge and enjoyment of our host country, as well as of each other’s cultural, artistic, and intellectual heritage.
We take great pleasure and pride in serving our community throughout the year and supporting both local and international associations.
We meet every 6 to 8 weeks to discuss literary works.
We enjoy cooking together at each others homes or other venues.
We meet Wednesdays or Fridays at different locations in Augsburg.
We enjoy a meal together every 3rd and 20th of the month.
We meet in the evenings for cocktails and laughs.
We go on hiking tours, city trips, and museum visits together.

All potential new members are welcome to attend up to two meetings before applying for membership. After that, membership is required to participate in regular activities and special events. The annual membership fee is €50.
AIWA members receive a monthly newsletter and may take part in all club activities scheduled for that month.
Members are encouraged to vote and stand for office in club elections and to become actively involved in the life and organization of the club.
AIWA is run entirely by the volunteer efforts of our members — and, as with every non-profit organization, our volunteers are the backbone of our success.
